Critical Updates! (July 2019)

Here we go Wildcats!

Critical Update #1: Grades 1-5 first week schedule adjustments. August 12 ~ August 16, the entire first week of school, will be early release days (1:15 dismiss). This is a big change from the normal start to the school year. Teachers will be meeting with each child individually (by appointment) during those afternoons in order to administer a quick, individualized reading and comprehension assessment. This will give the teachers a jump on how to best help each child in their class with regards to reading instruction. I believe this is a great move to empower our teachers and give them a chance to really focus on each child and be able to more effectively teach their entire class. The following week (Aug 19) will resume our normal schedule (M-Th 9-3:30 and Fri 9-1:15).

Critical Update #2: Class Placement Email & Open House. Expect an email with your child’s class assignment on Monday, Aug 5. Those emails will be sent throughout the morning (you will receive a separate email for each child). Friday, August 9 from 4-5pm will be our Open House. Please come meet your teacher, see your classroom, give me a high-5, check out our school, join PTO, buy school t-shirts, sign up to help PTO, and get excited for the school year to begin!

Critical Update #3: Job Openings. We do have two paraprofessional positions open as well as a lunch/playground supervision position and are looking for good people to apply. Crimson View is a great place to work! Please spread the word if you know of a quality candidate looking for a great school to work at: CLICK HERE for more information and to apply for the paraprofessional positions. Contact me directly (adam.baker@washk12.org) for more information regarding the lunch/playground position.

Critical Update #4: School Website. (https://cves.washk12.org/) Please use this resource! It should be your first stop for any information regarding our school. It will be kept up to date and should be a helpful resource if you ever have questions regarding what is going on at school!

I’m ready for a great school year! I am so excited to have our halls filled with students again! There is nothing better than the excitement of a fresh start and beginning of a school year. Let’s make this the best year ever!
