Crimson View Families — So long summer!!

We’re back and better than ever at Crimson View. Our teacher’s first contract day for the new school year was today and our teachers welcomed other teachers from all over the WCSD to come to Crimson View and learn about STEM instruction. We shared ideas and best practices and all the good that is happening at our school. That is a good start, but we are far more excited to have our students back in the halls of our school! **Added bonus – the air conditioning seems to be working well so we should be good to go on day 1.

I hope that each of you received the email from Superintendent Bergeson about expectations for the upcoming school year. (Read it here) I hope that everyone can stay healthy and that we can have a wonderful school year learning and growing together.

Here is what is coming up: (https://cves.washk12.org/calendar/)

  • Aug 11 @ 5pm – Back to School Night (doors open at 5pm, t-shirts, PTA, etc … two classroom sessions: 5:15 and 5:40)
  • Aug 12 – 1st Day of School (Grades 1-5) 9AM start
  • Aug 13 – 12pm Early release (that will be the Friday release time this year)
  • Aug 16~20 – 12 pm Early release – Each student will schedule an individual appointment time to meet with their teacher and complete a language arts assessment – this helps us hit the ground running with targeted instruction for all our students.
  • Aug 23 – First day of Kindergarten, regular schedule resumes (3:30 dismissal M-Th and 12pm F)

School Supply lists can be found on our school website: https://cves.washk12.org/supply-lists/

That is a whole bunch of information! Let me know if you have questions or if there is anything I can help you with as we get back to school!

Things to start now:

  • Figure out the schedule and family routines again … bedtime??
  • Be Positive about school and learning! Your child will in large measure adopt your attitude … make sure it is a good one!
  • Smile! It’s been a great summer. And it is great to be heading back to school!

Thanks for your continued support of all things Crimson View!

Adam Baker (Principal)
