Wildcat Families —

We continue to have many students and families impacted by illness. Please continue to monitor your own children and keep them home if they are ill. Runny noses, fevers, coughs, etc. are all better kept to ourselves than shared. We will also continue to encourage good hygiene at all times, especially hand washing! Let’s all do our part to quit sharing germs!

Busy weekend ahead! There will be no school for students on this Friday, Sept 17, as it has been designated a teacher preparation day.

Enjoy cheering on the Ironman athletes or have a blast at the Dixie Roundup rodeo!

Wildcat Families —

We’ve all survived the rush of August and getting back to school. I hope each of you are beginning to feel like the routine of school is becoming easier and easier. Here at school everyone seems to be settling in and I’m enjoying many positive interactions I have with students each day. Thanks for sharing your amazing children with us.

Our school has a School Community Council. I’d like to invite any interested parent to serve on this council. CLICK HERE to read this year’s election notice, or visit our school website for additional information (https://cves.washk12.org/community-council/). Those interested in participating as a council member should contact me directly. We currently have 3 parent openings, each term of service is for two school years.

SEP Conferences are scheduled for the 8th & 9th of September. We have three goals to accomplish with this SEP:

  1. Share current progress of your student compared to expected performance level.
  2. Share how our school will help build on the skill or extend and deepen the skill.
  3. Provide tools and resources that you can use at home to support the learning expectations for your child.

If you have not yet scheduled your appointment, please visit our school homepage (https://cves.washk12.org/) and click on the “Online Scheduler” icon. Don’t forget, our school password is “wildcats“.

First Day & Two Reminders

First Day & Two Reminders

Wildcat Families —

I’m so happy to have our school full of students and the sounds of school again! It is wonderful and makes my heart happy.

It’s been a great start! Students seem to be happy and enjoying the new school year, new teachers, new friends, new clothes and everything else that comes with a fresh school year start. I want to share two quick reminders:

  1. Arrival & Dismissal Parking Lot SafetyCLICK HERE – please review the information at the link and always be extra safe and cautious in and around our school.
  2. School Schedule Review: Today is a “normal” day with school from 9~3:30 for grades 1~5. Every Friday this year school will dismiss at 12pm. Lunch will not be eaten at school on Friday or early dismissal days. For those students who desire, they may request a sack lunch from our school lunchroom, and then those students will place the lunch in their backpacks and take it home to enjoy after the 12pm dismissal. This will be the lunch plan for all early release days. Next week, Aug 16~20, will be early dismissal (12pm) each day. Every student should have an individual appointment scheduled for a language arts diagnostic assessment with their classroom teacher. Our regular school schedule will resume on Aug 23. The first day of Kindergarten will also be on Aug 23.

As always, thank you so much for your support. Crimson View is an outstanding school and a wonderful place for children. If you ever have questions, concerns or need additional clarification, please ask!

We’re Better Together!

Adam Baker (Principal)  |  adam.baker@washk12.org

2021-22 Back to School Info

Aug 10, 2021 – Back to School Info

Welcome Back Wildcats!

Our entire faculty and staff are so excited to welcome you back to school. I want to share three quick reminders:

  1. Student Safety – It’s always #1 – However you get to school, start on day one with safety in mind. If your student will bike/scooter/walk to school please walk the route with them, discuss how to be safe at intersections and on the roads around the school. Make sure your student understands how important safety is. If you are driving, make sure you are extra careful on the surface streets around our school. Please be on board with our parking lot arrival/dismissal plan and keep that line of traffic moving — safely! DO NOT park and walk through traffic, or encourage your child to walk through traffic. Only cross at designated crossing areas.
  2. Routines – Begin them on day 1 – if you plan to ride the bus, have your child ride the bus on day 1. This helps them know the bus driver, know the stop they will need to exit at after school, and gives them the confidence to be successful with the extra support available on day 1. Same thing with school lunch, we have extra support on the first few days, if your child may eat during the year, eat the first few days just to get to know the routine while there is extra support helping all the students. Students will enter classrooms from the exterior classroom entrance again this year. That will start on day one.
  3. Attendance – ALL day EVERY day! – Please do all you can to have your child arrive at school on time and stay through the entire school day. Early check outs, late arrivals, not attending regularly can make success at school extremely challenging. Our teachers work extra hard to plan meaningful learning activities for each day, the best learning will take place with on time, regular, all day attendance.

We’re rolling out the red carpet for our back to school night. See you then!

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT – AUG 11 – 5~6pm

PTA INFO

PTA will have a table with information on programs and how to get involved at Crimson View at Back To School Night Wednesday.  Please stop by and ask any questions or take the time to sign up for a committee on Sign Up Genius.  There is no pressure to do more than you feel like you can in your time and season, but please know we value any input and want to help meet any needs of you and the students in our community.

2021-22 PTA Committee Sign Up opportunities (click on the link)

Theme: “Better Together!”

There will also be sign-ups in your child’s classroom with opportunities to help in the class and holiday fun throughout the year.  Even if you can’t commit to help, Please make sure you  sign your name and email so that room parents have permission to send you information.

P.A.W. Patrol:
Are you a dad of a Crimson View student and want to be more involved with your student at school?  If so, Crimson View P.A.W. Patrol is for you (Pa’s Always Watching). You can sign up to come any school day at lunch time to “Patrol” and play with the students on the playground.  You must check into the office and be wearing a P.A.W. Patrol shirt so the students know who you are and why you are there.  If you do not have a shirt, you can purchase one for $10 in the school office. There is no long-term commitment, but the students love having their “P.A.W.’s”  participating on the playground with them as positive role models.  If you have any questions about PAW Patrol contact Shelly Traveller at shellytraveller@gmail.com.

Crimson View School T-Shirts
T-shirts should be available at a table Wednesday night if they were pre-ordered.  If you haven’t had a chance to order a shirt yet, there will be samples available Wednesday to size up to your child.  You can order your shirt at: https://www.schoolspirit4u.com/crimson-view-elementary.  Students are encouraged to wear school shirts or school colors each Friday!  Orders can be placed with a check if brought Wednesday night.

Crimson View Families — So long summer!!

We’re back and better than ever at Crimson View. Our teacher’s first contract day for the new school year was today and our teachers welcomed other teachers from all over the WCSD to come to Crimson View and learn about STEM instruction. We shared ideas and best practices and all the good that is happening at our school. That is a good start, but we are far more excited to have our students back in the halls of our school! **Added bonus – the air conditioning seems to be working well so we should be good to go on day 1.

I hope that each of you received the email from Superintendent Bergeson about expectations for the upcoming school year. (Read it here) I hope that everyone can stay healthy and that we can have a wonderful school year learning and growing together.

Here is what is coming up: (https://cves.washk12.org/calendar/)

  • Aug 13 – 12pm Early release (that will be the Friday release time this year)

School Supply lists can be found on our school website: https://cves.washk12.org/supply-lists/

Things to start now:

  • Figure out the schedule and family routines again … bedtime??
  • Be Positive about school and learning! Your child will in large measure adopt your attitude … make sure it is a good one!
  • Smile! It’s been a great summer. And it is great to be heading back to school!
